Alumni-Student Mentoring Program

By participating in the Monash Alumni-Student Mentoring Program you can help students move from study to a professional career.

Each year we work with faculties across the University to partner alumni mentors with student mentees. Through the mentoring program, mentors develop a one-on-one partnership with a student. Honesty, two-way feedback, respect and a genuine interest to learn from each other are key to the program’s success.

About the program

The program aims to strengthen the links between our graduates, industry and current students. It builds on the success of a program run by Monash alumni for more than 10 years. Our mentors act as advisors using their experience to guide students through discussion about career goals, the availability of networks and support, and workplace dynamics. Information for alumni 

As a mentor, you will play an important role in shaping a student's professional future. We ask that mentors have at least two years work experience and a genuine interest in sharing their experiences with students. We have resources on hand to support you during the program including a pre-program workshop. Our mentors give great feedback on the benefits of being involved. Learn more

Information for students

As a mentee you will work one-on-one with your alumni mentor to develop your career plan. Your mentor will also provide advice about what life will be like after you graduate. Learn more
