How do I get a copy of my academic transcript?

An 'academic transcript' lists subjects taken and results attained and the degree that you have graduated with. A 'student letter' states only the degree you have obtained from Monash.

Monash Student Service Centre can provide you with a formal copy of your academic transcript. You can submit a request in writing, by phone or fax. If submitting your request in writing or via fax, please complete the application form available on the Student Services Centre website.

How can I verify my qualification/s?

Information for alumni

If you require a formal document from the University to verify your qualification or graduation, the Student Services Centre can provide you with a student letter upon request. A fee of $20 applies for each letter.

Information for employers

Employers can verify the qualifications of a Monash graduate who is a prospective employee by using the Student Services Centre's online request form.

How do I obtain an abbreviated listing of my qualifications (and other Monash qualifications)?

If you require an abbreviated listing of your qualifications (ie.BBus 1995, BA 1978), visit the Faculty Regulations webpage. Here, you can search by faculty for the course you completed and its abbreviation. Select the relevant faculty, then chose "Awards Regulations".

How do I join a Monash University library?

Alumni are able to purchase membership to the Monash University Library at a discounted rate. Please visit the Library privileges page for details.

How can I contact a classmate?

Provide the Alumni Relations office with the full name and degree details of the person you are trying to contact and your reasons for wanting to contact them, and we will check our database for a current email address. Although we cannot directly disclose a person's contact details (in compliance with privacy laws) we may be able to forward your details to the graduate you are searching for. Please contact us for more information.

How do I join/register as an alumnus or alumna? 

If you have a Monash degree or diploma, you are automatically part of the global community of Monash University alumni. You do not need to join or register. All alumni can take advantage of the range of activities, events, Australian and international contacts and benefits the University coordinates.

How do I set up a local alumni group in my town or country?

  • Monash University Archives provides subject descriptions to alumni free of charge. For further information, contact Archives via email.

How do I apply to graduate?

For all queries related to graduating or to apply to graduate online visit: www.monash.edu.au/grads 

How do I obtain a replacement graduation certificate?

You can request a replacement testamur (graduation certificate) if your original testamur has been lost, damaged or stolen, or if you have changed your name.

To obtain a replacement testamur, you must complete and submit an application for a replacement testamur form (PDF 79.2KB). Applicants are advised to carefully read the information on the first page of the application form.

Please note that it takes approximately three weeks to process the request and post out the replacement testamur.

Why haven't I received my copy of Monash Magazine?

Monash Magazine is produced twice a year and mailed or emailed to all alumni, unless requested otherwise. If you do not currently receive this publication, we may not have your current mailing address. To update your details, please visit the Update your contact details page.

Why do I get more than one Monash Magazine?

This can happen if you have more than one degree, if you and your partner both attended Monash, or if you are a Monash staff member. Please contact us and we will arrange for this to be fixed.

How can I remove my name from the Monash Magazine mailing list?

We do not wish to overwhelm you with mail, so if you prefer to be removed from our mail lists, please contact the Alumni Relations office.
