Alumni success at Beijing Olympics

Monash University congratulates two alumni who contributed to Australia’s medal tally at the Beijing Olympic Games last month.

In his Olympic debut, swimmer Brenton Rickard (BSc 2006) scored silver in the 200m breaststroke event.

Hockey striker Travis Brooks OAM (BComp 2005) was part of the Kookaburras team that won bronze after a 6-2 play-off victory against The Netherlands.

Monash alumna and retired hockey champion Claire Mitchell-Taverner OAM (BA 1996) commentated on this and other Kookaburras matches for 774 ABC Radio.
