Event in Japan: Alumni reception in Tokyo
Monash alumni are invited to attend the reception on Tuesday 23 October in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Japanese Studies at Monash University.

     
 

Performing arts: 'Our Country's Good'
Running from 10-14 October at Chapel Off Chapel in Melbourne, the play is based on the novel The Playmaker by Thomas Keneally.

     
 

Walk/run: Join TeamMONASH in Singapore
Monash encourages alumni of all fitness levels to join TeamMONASH for the Singapore Marathon on Sunday 2 December.

Lunchtime art forums: October 2007
Attend free forums, hosted by Monash's Faculty of Art and Design, at Monash's Caulfield campus. Forum speakers will include photographers, a video artist and a painter.

     
 

Seminar in Malaysia: Financial behaviour
Guest speaker Carol Yip (BEc(Hons) 1988) will discuss how personality influences the way people manage their money at a seminar on Saturday 20 October.

     

 

Curator's tour: Sigmund Freud's Collection
Curator Janine Burke will host a tour of the exhibition at Monash's Clayton campus on Sunday 28 October. She will also sign copies of her book The Gods of Freud. Photo: Sydney Pollack, Freud at his desk, 1914.

Alumni profile

Alumnus discovers passion for teaching and learning
As a teenager, Alan Hutchison (MEdSt 1993) hoped to pursue drama and theatre studies but fell in love with teaching on his first day working in a school. Now at Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar, Mr Hutchison is a leader in his field and one of only a handful of male deputy principals in Australian girls’ schools.
