Stressed managers err during global financial crisis
A Monash psychology expert says Australian businesses are under threat from the poor psychological state of their own stressed managers during the world financial crisis.

     
 

Campaign Committee member receives honorary degree
Monash University recently conferred Sam Lipski AM, a Monash University Campaign Committee member, with an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.

     
 

Alumnus creates new megafauna stamp series
Artist and Monash alumnus Peter Trusler (BSc 1975) has worked with Monash researchers to produce the creatures for Australia Post's new megafauna stamp series.

Exhibition: Monash Art & Design Degree Show
The work of final year Monash Art & Design students will be on display at the Caulfield campus from 15 to 28 November. Artwork will include ceramics, painting and interior architecture.

     
 

Dinners in Africa: celebrating Monash's 50th anniversary
Alumni are invited to celebrate Monash's 50th anniversary in Gaborone, Botswana, on 11 November and in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 20 November.

     
 

Student prize night: Monash Marketing Awards
Held at Docklands on Tuesday 9 December, the awards will recognise top performing students from the Department of Marketing. The guest speaker is Rob Hunt AM, Managing Director of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group.

Seminar in Hong Kong: climate change
On Thursday 6 November, Professor David Griggs of Monash University will discuss the latest scientific information about climate change and the implications for Hong Kong.

     
 

Dean's Lecture: global challenges in child survival
Dr Peter Salama, chief of health for UNICEF, will speak about global trends in maternal and child mortality at The Alfred Hospital on Thursday 27 November.

     
 

Seminar: cartels and criminal penalties
Prominent alumnus Graeme Samuel AO (LLM 1977), chairman of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, will speak at this event at The Westin, Melbourne, on Thursday 20 November.

Public lecture: the cost of an emissions trading scheme
Professor Philip Adams, director of Monash's Centre of Policy Studies, will explore the costs and benefits of an emissions trading scheme in Australia. Thursday 27 November at Federation Square.

Monash economics alumna Marie Turner (BEc 1980) has an impressive record in management and accounting in private sector business.

In her current role at Mitsubishi Australia she is responsible for corporate operations including compliance, governance and corporate social responsibility.
