Monash establishes counter terrorism centre
The Victorian Government and Monash University last month signed an agreement to establish a Global Terrorism Research Centre at Monash University.

Monash University alumna Dr Catherine Crock (MBBS 1981) has won the Health Minister's Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement at the 2006 Victorian Public Healthcare Awards.


 
Monash MBA consolidates its world-class ranking

Monash University's Graduate School of Business (GSB) has re-affirmed its position as one of the top Master of Business Administration (MBA) providers in the world following the release of the Economist Intelligence Unit's 2006 MBA rankings.

 
Success of International Student Friendship Program

A program helping international students adapt to Australian life has received an overwhelming response from the Monash community.

Since the launch of the International Student Friendship Program (ISFP) in August, over 100 Monash community members including university staff, alumni and international students have signed up in the first two months, with more than 30 volunteers on a waiting list.

 
Virus fight wins PhD researcher a Victoria Fellowship

Research into how the human body fights viral infections has led to Monash PhD researcher and alumna Ms Fleur Tynan being announced last month as one of six winners of the 2006 Victoria Fellowships.

Free Law lecture: Splitting and Merging Trusts

This free public lecture, hosted by the Faculty of Law, will explore ‘splitting’ and ‘merging’ trusts in light of recent tax rulings. This lecture may contribute towards Continuing Professional Development requirements.

Human Rights 2006: Year in Review conference

Hosted by Monash's Castan Centre for Human Rights Law, the conference will cover issues including the world water crises, corruption in South East Asia, justice for Timor-Leste, Australia's approach to West Papua, offshore processing of asylum seekers, counter-terrorism laws, religious freedom and religious hatred, the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities, and human rights education.
