Monash celebrates its new distinguished alumni
Five outstanding graduates were presented with a 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award at the 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner on 29 May.

     
 

Monash launches philanthropic campaign
Campaign chair Trevor O'Hoy (BEc 1976) has announced Monash University's ambitious philanthropic campaign to raise more than $200 million over the next three years.

     
 

Historian unravels Monash's founding
Professor Graeme Davison discussed the dreams of Monash founders at last month's 50th Anniversary Public Lecture. Listen to the podcast on the Faculty of Arts webpage.

Race day: Sir John Monash Stakes
The annual alumni race day and lunch will be held at Caulfield Racecourse on Saturday 19 July.

     
 

Festival: Limmud Oz
The Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation will host Limmud Oz, Australia's annual festival of Jewish learning and culture, at the Caulfield campus between 22 and 24 June.

     
 

Library exhibition: Fifty Books from Fifty Years
Held at the Sir Louis Matheson Library until 31 August, the exhibition showcases 50 significant books selected by 50 Monash researchers including Die Traeumenden Knaben by Oskar Kokoschka (pictured).

Alumni profile

Mapping out an IT career
Just over a decade ago, Sallina Lee (BComp(InfoSys)(Hons) 1997) graduated from Monash University with a goal to pursue a career in IT. Having spent most of her professional career working for a Hong Kong-based IT company, Ms Lee is happy to say her dream is being realised.
