Back to Caulfield
Friendships were rekindled and more than 80 years of educational history was celebrated at last month's Back to Caulfield Reunion. Close to 500 former and current staff and students of the campus gathered to reminisce and see how the campus has changed.
 
Hong Kong alumni reception
An evening of networking, fine food and entertainment at the Grand Hyatt was enjoyed last month by Monash alumni and friends in Hong Kong. Among the guests were all the former presidents of the Monash University Hong Kong Alumni Association (MUHKAA).
 
Update your details: final prize-winner

Congratulations to Caressa Cheng (BComp 2004) in Malaysia, who updated her details during October and won a A$200 Monash voucher. She shopped online for a range of Monash merchandise.

Internet may aid in treating panic sufferers

Internet-based treatments for sufferers of panic disorder may be just as effective as face-to-face methods, a study by Monash University researchers has found.

 
Lizard venom could hold key to future drugs

An international research team involving Monash researchers has found monitor lizards and iguanas produce venom similar to that found in snakes.

This is the final edition of 'At Monash' for 2005. The next edition will be distributed in February next year. If you are moving house or changing jobs over the new year, don't forget to update your contact details to ensure you continue to receive 'At Monash' in 2006.

Join the library

All alumni can join the library for $55 per annum and gain access to a range of online databases as well as borrow from the libraries on any Monash University campus within Australia. Please note the membership price for online databases will increase from 1 January 2006.

 
Recruit Monash students
Monash University Careers and Employment offers a web-based jobs database. Alumni employers keen to employ Monash students for part-time, casual, vacation and graduate positions can lodge vacancies directly online.

Performing Arts 2006

Treat yourself to a night at the Alexander Theatre in 2006. Alumni receive a five per cent discount on all subscriptions and single-ticket purchases for any performance in the 2006 season. Productions include 'Why Kids?', starring Henri Szeps and 'The Merchant of Venice' performed by the Bell Shakespeare Company.

 
Exhibition: Extra-Aesthetic - 25 views of the Monash University Collection

This exhibition at the Clayton and Caulfield campuses involves 25 academics from across the university who have been invited to select and write about artworks from the Monash collection.

 

Classnotes

Tricia Peters

In addition to running her own financial planning practice and being a mother of three children, Tricia Peters (MBA 1991, MProfAcc 1999) is chair of the International Women's Development Agency (IWDA). The not-for-profit aid organization supports women in developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
