Update to alumni reveals research findings and plans for 2008November 2007Monash University sent out a special bulletin for alumni in late October. The email – sent out by the Donor, Alumni and Community Relations division - provided information about new elements of the Monash alumni relations program and statistics discovered through a major alumni survey. Monash University Vice-Chancellor Professor Richard Larkins said that the bulletin was an important update about alumni relations activities. “The University has made significant efforts and investment in alumni relations over the past 12 months. The program is based on sound research and will undoubtedly deliver clear benefits for alumni, students and the University,” Professor Larkins said. Vice-President (Advancement) Ron Fairchild said that almost 5,000 alumni - located in Australia and around the world - responded to the alumni survey which asked questions about their preferences for communications, events and lifelong learning. “The survey results, combined with research about best practice in alumni relations and consultation with alumni from around the world, have provided a clear picture of the needs of Monash alumni,” Mr Fairchild said. “We are committed to developing and supporting an inspiring program for alumni. I’m certain that it will grow, evolve and strengthen over coming months and years,” he said. The Monash alumni relations program is now focused on four ‘pillars’:
“The alumni relations program provides a multitude of opportunities for Monash’s more than 200,000 alumni located in 120 countries worldwide. I look forward to coming in contact with many alumni as they participate in the program,” Professor Larkins said. “I would particularly like to thank the alumni and staff whose contributions have brought us to this exciting stage in the alumni relations program.” Links: Read the full Special Bulletin online |
