Monash community strive for gold in Beijing
Monash congratulates alumni, staff and students who will be part of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

     
 

New benefits for Monash alumni
Alumni are entitled to a range of new benefits from August 2008 including increased library borrowing rights, access to a new online database and discounts on ePress books.

     
 

Stonefish shape anti-venom research at Monash
Monash University's Department of Pharmacology is working with Barrier Reef stonefish to find ways of treating box jellyfish stings.

Orchestral performance: Spring Concert
The Monash Academy Orchestra and soloists, including trumpeter James Morrison, will perform at Robert Blackwood Concert Hall on 20 September.

Monash is looking for enthusiastic alumni to volunteer for the Australian University Games in Melbourne between Sunday 28 September and Friday 3 October.

A new book by Sarah Rood (MPubHist 2005) – From Ferranti to Faculty – explores the history of Monash's Faculty of Information Technology, the first faculty dedicated to computing and IT in Australia.

On 18 August, Professor Menachem Mautner from Tel Aviv University will speak at a free Faculty of Law seminar on the topic 'Law and culture in Israel at the threshold of the 21st century'.

Jane Edmanson OAM (BA 1971, DipEd 1972) is a professional gardener, and television and radio presenter who, for 31 years, has encouraged others to explore their own backyards.
