Explore study options at Monash University's 2008 Open Day on 2 August (Berwick, Gippsland, Parkville and Peninsula campuses) and 3 August (Caulfield and Clayton campuses).

     
 

Academy of Performing Arts: July/August events
Upcoming events include Monash Academy's play Oedipus DNA (31 July - 2 August) and Winter Concert (3 August), including music from Mozart and Beethoven.

     
 

Alumni event: New York
Monash alumni who live in the New York area are invited to a casual gathering on 10 July at the New York Marriott Marquis to help celebrate the University's 50th Anniversary.

Public lecture: A journey into Zimbabwe
Alumnus Dominik Vukovic (LLB 2006) (pictured right) will discuss his experiences in Zimbabwe during the country's recent elections at this event at the Clayton campus on 23 July.

     
 

Dean's Lecture: Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences
On 7 August, Victorian Health Minister Daniel Andrews (BA 2004) will speak at the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences' Dean's Lecture at the Clayton campus.

     
 

Seminars: Monash Chemical Society
The Monash Chemical Society will hold a series of lectures hosted by prominent scientists at the Clayton campus during second semester 2008.

Public lecture: Melbourne Art Fair Lecture
The soon to be announced artistic director of the 2010 Sydney Biennale will speak at this free event at Federation Square on 28 July.

Read the speech by Professor John Thwaites (BSc 1978, LLB(Hons) 1981), Chairman of the Monash Sustainability Institute, on 'social justice and climate change' at the recent Monash Law School Costello Lecture.

Monash University alumnus Matt Smith (BIndDesign(Hons) 2005) calls himself a ‘glorified shed tinkerer’. In reality, he is the brains behind a New Zealand design company specialising in clever, practical furniture.
