Mr Max Gillies AM (BA 1966)

Max Gillies

Awarded for his ability as an actor/satirist to encourage Australians to engage in serious reflection about their rights and responsibilities and the sense of community to which they aspire, as well as his mentoring of young writers and performers.

   

Professor Ichlasul Amal (PhD 1985)

Recognised for the influential role he has played in Indonesian politics and in higher education, as well as his courageous leadership during the crisis of May 1998.

   

Professor Mick Dodson AM (BJuris 1974, LLB 1978)

Mick Dodson

Recognised for being in the vanguard of a generation of indigenous graduates who have reshaped Australia's understanding and recognition of the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, especially in his role at the time as Commission for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice.
