| Library members benefit from new database |
Monash University Library is pleased to announce the addition of a major international database for alumni who are library members. SourceOECD offers statistical information across a range of topics including agriculture and food, employment, environment and sustainability, nuclear energy and transport.
"Monash University remains one of the few Australian academic libraries to offer its alumni members electronic access and the only one to offer such a large range," said Veronica Hibbs, membership liaison officer at Monash University Library.
Since the introduction of remote access to electronic resources at Monash University in 2003, the Library has increased the number of databases on offer to include ProQuest, Expanded Academic, AusLit and now SourceOECD. |

| New school research to focus on absent parents |
New research is focusing on the impact of divorce and separation on parents, to identify issues for schools and parents in the involvement of non-residential parents in their children's schooling.
"We know little about the involvement of non-residential parents in schools and this knowledge gap leaves parents and schools with little guidance," said Professor Thea Brown from Monash University's Department of Social Work. |
