Access Monash Overview

Access Monash leads the University’s strategy to improve the access, participation and success of students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Access Monash initiatives include:

  • Engagement with schools - Schools Access Monash (SAM)
  • Engagement with communities to increase transition to higher education
  • Enhancing pathways to Monash courses for both school leaver and mature aged students
  • Improving selection tools and special admission schemes
  • Ensuring support for students to optimise their progress, likelihood of success and future options
  • Monitoring student outcomes and the effectiveness of Access Monash initiatives

 

The Access Monash program helps:

  • People of Australian Indigenous descent
  • People from regional or remote areas in Australia
  • People experiencing financial disadvantage
  • People with a disability or long-term medical condition
  • People from non-English speaking backgrounds
  • People experiencing difficult family circumstances
  • People from under-represented schools
