Access Monash Overview
Access Monash leads the University’s strategy to improve the access, participation and success of students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Access Monash initiatives include:
- Engagement with schools - Schools Access Monash (SAM)
- Engagement with communities to increase transition to higher education
- Enhancing pathways to Monash courses for both school leaver and mature aged students
- Improving selection tools and special admission schemes
- Ensuring support for students to optimise their progress, likelihood of success and future options
- Monitoring student outcomes and the effectiveness of Access Monash initiatives
The Access Monash program helps:
- People of Australian Indigenous descent
- People from regional or remote areas in Australia
- People experiencing financial disadvantage
- People with a disability or long-term medical condition
- People from non-English speaking backgrounds
- People experiencing difficult family circumstances
- People from under-represented schools
