Sir John Monash has inspired generations of Monash graduates to make a difference in their lives and in their communities.

These are just some of our graduates' stories:

The Honourable Chief Justice Diana Bryant
Chief Justice of the Family Court of Australia

Honourable Chief Justice Diana BryantChief Justice Bryant (LLM 1999) AO was appointed Chief Justice of the Family Court of Australia in 2004.

Born in Perth, Chief Justice Bryant is a third-generation lawyer who graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Melbourne and with a Master of Laws from Monash University.

Chief Justice Bryant was admitted as a legal practitioner in Victoria in 1970. She returned to Perth in 1977 to join law firm Lavan and Walsh (which became Phillips Fox) where she worked as a solicitor and counsel specialising in family law until 1990.

Mr Richard Henderson

Mr Richard Henderson A revolutionary Australian graphic designer, Richard Henderson (DipArtDes(FineArt) 1974) has contributed to the evolution of Australia's visual culture over his 30-year career.

In 2003 Mr Henderson established R-Co, a brand identity, image and internet solutions consultancy where he is currently CEO and creative director. Mr Henderson has developed a diverse range of brand image projects for the retail, corporate, environmental and government sectors.

Professor Gabor Kovacs AM

Professor Gabor Kovacs AMProfessor Gabor Kovacs AM (MBBS (Hons) 1971, MD 1995) is the International Medical Director of Monash IVF.

He joined Monash IVF in 1978 and since then has established himself as a leading expert in IVF, ovulation induction, donor Insemination, infertility surgery, male sub fertility, contraception and sterilisation.

He has also played a critical role in advancing research – discoveries that have resulted in new technologies being made available to patients.

Ms Rameshwari Ramachandra
Author and entrepreneur

Ms Rameshwari RamachandraRamesh Ramachandra (MBA 1993) is recognised as one of Asia's most influential women.

As managing director of Singapore-based consulting firm Business Breakthrough Technology Pte Ltd she manages the operations and expansion of consulting initiatives and blue-chip clientele in Singapore, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines.

She also regularly consults and coaches senior executives and board members and provides customised coaching to family-owned businesses going through conflicts, succession and inheritance issues.

Ms Carol Schwartz AM

Ms Carol Schwartz AMMs Carol Schwartz (BA 1977, LLB 1978, MBA 1988) is a pioneer in developing social enterprise organisations in Australia and a champion of women's leadership.

She has impacted on Australian society through her business achievements and her involvement in a diverse portfolios of board appointments including Qualitas Property Partners, Yarra Capital Partners, Melbourne Business School, the Australian Innovation Research Centre, Enterprise Melbourne Advisory Board, Our Community and Stockland.

Mr John Bertrand AM

Mr John Bertrand AMMr John Bertrand AM (BE(Hons) 1970) is an international yachtsman, businessman and philanthropist. Mr Bertrand was skipper of Australia II – the yacht that won the America's Cup in 1983. The victory broke 132-years of American domination and in the process the longest running record in modern sports history.

The Australia II victory was recognised by the Confederation of Australian Sport as the 'greatest team performance in the 200 years of Australian sport'.

A world champion and Olympic Bronze medalist, Mr Bertrand represented Australia in five America's Cups and two Olympic Games.
