At the base of the pyramid is the budget, extending over a timeframe of 1 year.

Above this, extending over a timeframe of 3 to 5 years are the Enabling/Supporting plans (such as Information Technology Plan, Capital Plan, Equity Plan, Marketing Plan), Operational Plans (such as Support Services Plan, Faculty Operational Plans, Global Development 02-06), and Functional Plans (Learning and Teaching Plan, Research and Research Training Management Plan).

Above these, the Global Development Framework and, at the top of the pyramid, Leading the Way - both extending over long term timeframes.
