Indigenous Australians

Monash recognises and respects Indigenous Australians as the Traditional Owners of this land.

We support Indigenous education, research and cultural awareness.

Acknowledgement of country

In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge and pay respects to the Traditional Owners and Elders - both past and present - of the land on which our six Australian campuses stand:

  • The Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation (Berwick, Caulfield, Clayton and Parkville)
  • The Bunurong people of the Kulin nation (Clayton and Peninsula)
  • The Brayukaloong clan of the Gunnai/Kurnai people (Gippsland).

We acknowledge their living culture and unique role in the life of this region and offer our deep appreciation for their contribution and support.
